Root canals have a bad reputation they don’t deserve and we think Hollywood is to blame. Movies and television shows often portray root canal therapy as a painful and frightening procedure. The truth is that most root canal procedures are quite painless

When most of us think of the affect of food on our teeth, we probably think of the age-old wisdom that sugar causes tooth decay. And while sugar is a notorious culprit, there are many other ways that the foods you eat affect your teeth, & not all of it is bad news.
Root canals have earned a bad reputation. This procedure has become the butt of jokes on TV shows & in games of “Would You Rather”. It has also become the subject of an unusual amount of anxiety because patients expect the procedure to be painful, despite recent advancements that ensure this isn’t the case. But from a health perspective, root canals are heroic: they are a life-saving procedure for your tooth!

Tyson T. feels privileged to be a part of the Central Coast Dental Care Team. He worked as a dental assistant for 13 years before finding his passion in dental hygiene. He graduated from Carrington College in 2015 & loves taking care of his patients’ oral health & concerns while providing the highest standard of care.
When he is not in the office, Tyson enjoys hiking, biking, golf & cars. He also enjoys spending my time relaxing at home with his cat Ky’Lee.
A 2016 graduate from the NYU College of Dentistry, Dr. Karanjit K. Dhillon started her dental career in California. Dr. Dhillon has been practicing general/family dentistry, including restorative (fillings, crowns, bridges), cosmetic (veneers & Invisalign treatment), teeth cleanings, extractions, wisdom teeth & root canal fillings.
Following her belief in giving back to the community, Dr. Dhillon has provided dental needs to dental patients in underserved areas & has been a part of a volunteer organization that provides services to promote health care. She also serves as a Captain in the U.S. army. She is committed to continual professional development within dentistry.
She has been married for 5 years now & loves spending time with her family which includes her husband & fellow dentist, Dr. Ravneet Dhillon, & her 14 month son Ruaan. They are expecting their second child in July.
She is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association & Monterey Bay Dental Society.
Kristen Comello has been a hygienist for over twelve years on the Monterey Peninsula. She is a wife & a mother of three boys. She is super passionate about helping patients with their homecare, & giving you a gentle but thorough cleaning.
She started a nonprofit to help kids learn how to brush their teeth. She’s helped thousands of kids on the Monterey Peninsula learn how to brush their teeth & she has given them tools for success. She loves spending time with her family, watching her boys play baseball, surf, & paddleboard on the river.
Adriana was born & raised on the Monterey Peninsula & received her AAS in Dental Hygiene from Cabrillo College in 2018. She is an active member of the California Dental Hygienist’s Association & prides herself in staying current with the latest research & information about dental care. She loves getting to know her patients & being able to educate them about their oral health. Many of her patients describe her as gentle yet very thorough. When Adriana is not practicing dental hygiene she loves to travel, try new restaurants, spend time with her family & friends, & attend sporting events!
