Our General Dentists

Lawrence Kraus, DDS
Dr. Kraus received his dental surgery doctorate from the University of Detroit Dental School and his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. Dr. Larry Kraus entered private practice and joined Knollwood Dental Care as an associate in 1987, eventually became a partner and today is the owner of the practice. Dr. Kraus stays abreast of the most current dental techniques available by attending continuing education courses throughout the year where he has received extensive training in implant restoration. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Macomb Dental Society and the Detroit District Dental Society.

Andy Kim, DDS
Dr. Kim is a graduate of Michigan State University. He received his dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 1997. He earned Honors from the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and the Department of Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Kim also completed a General Practice Residency program at the Westchester County Medical Center in New York. Dr. Kim is Certified in Invisalign, in NobleBiocare Dental Implants, Team Endo and the Dawson Advanced Dental Study.

Frank H. Schoebel, DDS
Dr. Schoebel received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Detroit Dental School in 1969. He joined the practice of Dr. Ted Marecki that same year and they were later joined by Dr. Dan Pierron to form what is now Knollwood Dental Care in 1971. Although Dr. Schoebel retired as a partner of Knollwood in 1998, he still enjoys practicing at Knollwood part-time. Dr. Schoebel served on the faculty of the University of Detroit for several years. He has also lectured on group management strategies at several national seminars.

Lydia Kossak D'Agostini, DDS
Dr. Kossak joins Knollwood Dental Care June 2007. She received her DDS from University of Detroit Mercy in 2000 after obtaining an undergraduate degree in Nutritional Science from Michigan State University. She has been practicing dentistry in eastern Macomb County since she graduated. Dr. Kossak is a second generation dentist. Her father is a prominent oral surgeon in Macomb County. She takes special interest in implant restoration and cosmetic dentistry.

Justin Newingham, DDS
Dr. Newingham received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Michigan Dental School and his undergraduate degree from Albion College. While at the University of Michigan, Dr. Newingham received additional training in both Pediatrics and Oral Surgery. He was a participant in the Traverse City Migrant Workers Pediatric Dentistry Program. He also did an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Externship at the University of Michigan Hospital. Dr. Newingham entered private practice in 2005 as an associate in a cosmetic practice located in Rochester Hills, MI. He started working part-time at Knollwood Dental Care last spring and has just recently joined us full-time. He is currently an active member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, and the Oakland County Dental Association.
 
 


Our Specialists

Stephen Soehren, DDS, MS
Dr. Soehren is a Board Certified Periodontist. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa. He received his periodontic specialty training at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and his Master Degree from Georgetown University. He is a retired Colonel from the US Army Dental Corps and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He previously served as Chief of Periodontics at the University of Detroit, Mercy. Dr. Soehren currently serves as Chief of Periodontics for the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Detroit and teaches at the University of Michigan Dental School.

H. Robert Steiman, DDS, PhD, MSD
Dr. Steiman is a Board Certified Endodontist and the Dean of the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. He received his PhD from Wayne State University School of Medicine, his dental degree from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry and his MSD and Certificate in Endodontics from Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Steiman has been on the faculty of the University of Detroit School of Dentistry (now the University of Detroit Mercy) since 1967 and has served as the Chairman of several departments. Dr. Steiman has been very active in organized dentistry and has served as the President of the Michigan Association of Endodontists and a Director of the American Association of Endodontists and the American Board of Endodontists.

Robert E. Singer, DDS, MS
Dr. Singer is a Board Certified Orthodontist. Dr. Singer received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree with Honors from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry in 1969. He received a Master of Science Degree in Orthodontics from the University of Michigan. In 1972, he established his orthodontic practice in Northville, Michigan. He has enjoyed his work as an Orthodontist at Knollwood Dental Care since 2001. Dr. Singer is an active member in the Great Lakes Orthodontic Study Club and has professional affiliations with the American Association of Orthodontists and local, state and national dental societies.

Brian Schneider, DDS, MD
Dr. Schneider recently returned from volunteering his dental services to the children of Mexico in the treatment of cleft palate disorders. Dr. Schneider completed his undergraduate and dental degree in 1995 at the University of Alberta in Canada.

Following his graduation, he completed a 1-year General Practice Residency at the University of Alberta Hospitals.

From 1996-1997, he worked in private practice and taught part-time at the University of Alberta Dental Hygiene Program.

Dr. Schneider later went on to specialize in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, doing his Residency at the Detroit Medical Center where he gained advanced surgical experience in facial trauma, oral pathology, jaw reconstruction and dental implants. This also involved completing medical school at Wayne State University.
